I had been intrigued when Robin posted some info on NST and I'm fond of a rummage around Marionnard when in France - I obtained a lovely little bottle of Coco parfum at a good price last time....anyway. I am also a fan of the work of Guichard father and son so the tuberose -vetiver caught my eye. (I've recently sniffed Manoumalia and was struck by how wonderful vetiver can smell with a full on white floral). I suspect it is time to wrestle with the website as I doubt they'll come to the UK. donanicolaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922907157797061660.post-23969268666921589282009-02-24T08:20:00.000+01:002009-02-24T08:20:00.000+01:00Jarvis, who wouldn't have that urge? If that marble sculpture became alive by a miracle, what would be the first "sensorial" experiences? Tuberose-vetiver-castoreum is already a good combination.
Hybrid creatures can be a good subject to transpose into scents.Octavian Coifanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18342689176413052674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922907157797061660.post-29496126176851457862009-02-23T17:02:00.000+01:002009-02-23T17:02:00.000+01:00It's a pet theory of mine, Jarvis. Androgynous is when the gendered signs veer towards to other gender (for instance: tobacco/leather scents for women). Unisex is when neither gender is referenced with signs (Colognes for instance). Maybe there's a post in there!carmencanada /Grain de Muschttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04046101625425953248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922907157797061660.post-69235994354869436622009-02-23T12:03:00.000+01:002009-02-23T12:03:00.000+01:00I seem to recall I was also vaguely intrigued by P...I seem to recall I was also vaguely intrigued by Pièges à Filles.

It is interesting to consider what would make a perfume "hermaphrodite" (i.e. exhibiting characteristics both masculine and feminine), as opposed to "unisex" or "gender neutral."Jarvishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08320628861633769796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4922907157797061660.post-60599406544958337562009-02-23T09:34:00.000+01:002009-02-23T09:34:00.000+01:00Jarvis, you only smelled the scent strips, right? ...Jarvis, you only smelled the scent strips, right? But you got it right for Ego Facto! That's the description I was missing.
Prends garde a toi has that mezzo voice (une voix rauque, je pense) of a strange music. It has also that strange image of "woman with beard" as in old "gravures de cirque".
jamais le dimanche can also be described as "les algues sur l'autel". both temple and sea.
As for the tuberose-vetiver, I was surprised to see how many people liked this perfume from the first sniff. They must have put something inside :)
Another strange note similar to one put in Ego Facto was previously used in Angelique Lilas (Guerlain).
my artemisia impression was close to wormwood, absinthe and other plants from the same botanic family (strange family).Octavian Coifanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18342689176413052674noreply@blogger.com
